Ceramic Tiles for the Digital Tile Murals and Accents
These are standard smooth surface wall tiles that are about 1/4" inch thick. The most common sizes used are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and 6" x 6" but other sizes are available. We can customize your order to use 2" x 2", 3" x 3", 6" x 8", 8" x 8", 8" x 10" and 12" x 12" tiles.

These tiles have built in spacers that will give you a perfectly straight 1/16" grout line.

For the digital tile murals and single tile accents you do not choose a color for us to work with because the artwork image colors will completely cover the surface of the tiles. You do choose the finish. You can choose glossy (a high gloss shine that gives your tiles a modern, contemporary look), satin (a slight shine like an egg shell that is neutral and works well with modern and traditional settings), or matte (with no shine at all these tiles have a "stone like" appearance and a smooth surface so all the detail of your mural will come through).

The tiles that we use are made by American Olean (a division of Dal-Tile). You can purchase the matching 4 1/4" and 6" blank tiles that you need to finish your project tile area at most Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouses throughout the country. Check with your local Lowe's store for availability. They can also be ordered from most tile dealers.

PLEASE NOTE - Lowe's and tile dealers will NOT have a matching MATTE tile. Our matte tiles have a stone-like feel. To match our glossy tiles you would purchase blank glossy tiles from your tile dealer and to match our satin tiles you would purchase blank matte tiles from your tile dealer. Although the blank tiles you would purchase from tile dealer are called "matte" they probably have a slight shine and would best match our SATIN tiles.

These tiles are safe to use in the kitchen on the wall as a backsplash behind a stove or sink or in the bathroom on the wall as part of your shower and tub surround. The images on these tiles can not be washed away and are permanent to the tile. You can clean these tiles daily with any normal household cleanser such as Soft Scrub, 409, Windex, Mr. Clean etc. and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use anything abrasive (such as Brillo) to clean these tiles. These tiles are for indoor use only. Use unsanded grout only when installing these tiles.

Rialto Porcelain tile for the Digital Tile Murals and Accents
These tiles are made of porcelain and have a texture to make them appear as if they are a tumbled stone. These tiles have nicks and pits on the face of the tile and textured edges.

These tiles will give your mural and accents an "old-world" and aged look. The rialto porcelain tiles for the digital tile murals and accents have a satin/matte finish. Most Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse stores carry the Rialto Porcelain tiles if you want to match the size and texture to the tiles I use. The tiles from Lowe's are a bit more matte than our finish (see the Rialto tile for kiln fired designs below) though they blend well with the finish we use.

They do not have built in spacers so they can be installed close together or you can use plastic tile spacers for a wider grout line.

Botticino Tumbled Marble tile for the Digital Tile Murals and Accents
These tiles are natural stone and have a completely matte finish. There are variations in the texture and color of each tile. Although the digital image will completely cover the surface of the tile, lighter colored tiles will produce lighter shades and darker colored tiles will produce darker shades. Light and dark tiles will be mixed when creating your mural. The colors of the images come out muted and toned down on the marble tiles.

Every marble tile is different in its texture, veining and pitting. Notice that some of the corners and edges have chips and are missing. This is normal for tumbled marble. Some of the veining will show through the image.

The botticino tumbled marble tiles will give your tile mural an "old-world" and aged look.

The most common tumbled marble tiles come in 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" and 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" sizes and they have a thickness ranging from approximately 5/16" to 6/16". Since the tiles do not have built in spacers you can install them right next to each other or use plastic tile spacers for a wider grout line.We can customize your tile mural using 6" x 3", 8" x 8", *" x 10" or 12" x 12".

We offer the kiln fired designs on 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and 6" x 6" tiles since the materials for the kiln fired tile murals and accents are made for these size tiles and the designs can not be resized like the Digital Tile Murals and Accents can be resized.

You choose the color (white or biscuit) and the finish (glossy or matte) that you want us to use.
The Kiln Fired Tile Murals and Accents can also be made on your custom tiles as long as they are glazed ceramic or porcelain.

You can send us your own tile to decorate. Just choose the appropriate "Customer Supplied tile size" under the Ceramic Tile Choices on the order page.

Although these tiles are made of porcelain they have a stone like appearance with nicks and pits on the face and textures edges. The colors of the design will not penetrate the nicks, pits and textures so these tiles give your tile mural an "old-world" look.

These tiles have a matte finish. They come in 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" (except Noce) and 5 7/8" x 5 7/8 sizes and have a thickness of 5/16". These tiles do not have built in spacers and can be installed right next to each other for a thin grout line or you can use plastic tile spacers for a thicker grout line.

The blank tiles are available at most Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouses throughout the country so you can match these tiles with any blank tiles you need for the rest of your project. Check with your local Lowe's store for availability.
