The Sistine Chapel ceiling, painted between 1508 and 1512, is considered one of the cornerstones of High Renaissance Art. With this in mind, local businessman John Byrne commissioned Gerety to paint the ceiling of a popular restaurant. The artist created eight panel sections and 65 disco balls. The entire painting took four weeks, from conception to completion. Gerety’s work can be found in a number of museums throughout the country, including the U.S. State Department of Interior.
