Originally from Denmark, Aagaard (1833 to 1895) first studied art with his brother, a glass engraver. He later studied with many famous artists, including landscape oil painter Peter Kristian Skoovgaard. One of Copenhagen’s most influential Golden Age artists, Aagaard was commissioned to paint the chapel of King Christian IV. Carl Frederic Aagaard’s artwork has been specially reproduced for our SOLO® glass tiles.
