Artist Spotlight – Christine Kerrick

If you have ever wondered about the work of Christine Kerrick, you’ve come to the right place. She is a talented illustrator and painter who works primarily with the human form and face. Her art incorporates mixed media embellishments and has been shown worldwide in numerous galleries. Here are a few things you might not know about Kerrick:

Her artwork has been featured in publications including a sketchbook, non-fiction book, and many other pieces. In 2011, she published a sketchbook of her work, and in the same year, an illustrated cookbook, To Romance, With Love. The latter was a collaboration with writer Dave Valletta, who illustrated the 115-page book. The artist has also illustrated a non-fiction book, Soul Trappers, about a police officer who is fighting against human trafficking.

In addition to painting, Kerrick has a background in forensics. She attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, where she learned forensic facial imaging. She has worked with law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania and across the United States to help them solve crimes by studying skeletal remains. She has also been interviewed on the subject of forensic facial imaging and has illustrated portrait images of slaves for a documentary about human trafficking in Pennsylvania.
